Meet the Girls
Growing up in a talented musical family was the jackpot for a gifted born-singer such as Amy Jenkins. Her exposure to music through her musician father and singing harmonies since childhood led in on her a path of natural ability and musical interest. Placing in her first vocal competition at age of 11, following years in Concert Choir gaining skills in singing German and Latin, Amy had her Television Debut at age 20. Her background has led Amy into being a sought-after studio vocalist, where her speed at hearing and arranging harmonies is appreciated by all. In live venues, her personality and love for performing shines through.
Amy’s strong soulful vocals show off her great range as she performs a wide variety of material drawing on her biggest influences such as Chaka Khan, Bonnie Raítt, Amy Winehouse, and Annie Lennox just to name of a few. Her passion for Funk and R&B found her fronting dance bands in the past recent years such as 5 Grand, Urban Funk Outfit and The Tony Sinclair Band and The Dan Hess Band. However, for Juniper Rose, Amy puts on a different hat, singing a wide variety of songs from country to pop, R&B and rock, while holding the beat down playing Percussions and Slaptop Cajon.
By age 18 Hollie was working full time as a professional keyboard player and lead singer/songwriter. Throughout her 35+ years in the music business she performed as a true "on the road" musician playing 300 dates a year making her sole-living working in many styles of bands and acts. From a piano/vocal solo, to a 7 piece show band playing in Nevada casino showrooms.
Songwriting is a big part of her life as she now has several all original albums; from Jazz, Blues, Adult Contemporary and Rock, on iTunes, Spotify and all worldwide platforms, and over a dozen full production original music videos. Many of her songs continue to be played on broadcast radio and internet radio all around world. One of her holiday songs, Candy Canes and Snowflakes, where she wrote the music with lyricist Roger Penkethman, hit #3 on the top 10 at 89.5 in Australia in 2021. In 2019 she was a featured guest on Portland K-BOO where she was interviewed and had the pleasure of hearing 6 of her originals played on air. In 2022, Hollie was the cover story in Portland, OR own long time publication Positively Entertainment where her original album "Words and Music" was featured.
Hollie truly enjoys the relaxed unplugged pace of Juniper Rose and is proud of writing and producing the duo's first all original album. Along with writing songs specifically for Juniper Rose, she enjoys working up select covers that she and Amy can do their own twist on as she keeps busy on lead and backup vocals along with playing keybass and keyboards giving the duo a full and textured sound.
